Ambassadors

In October 2009, The Duke of Ed Ambassador Program was launched by Her Excellency Prof. Marie Bashir, NSW Governor, and HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, at a ceremony in Sydney.

The Duke of Ed Ambassadors are both leaders and grass-root members of the community who use their talent, position and/or network to promote the value, relevance and importance of The Duke of Ed for young people in Australia. Importantly they provide opportunities to connect supporters to The Duke of Ed.

Our goal is to create a Duke of Ed Ambassador program with 50 active Ambassadors arond the country from all walks of life, from all enterprises and all business sectors, and to raise $5 million by the end of our 50th Anniversary year in 2012.

In order to do this we need supporters, sponsors, benefactors and this is where the Ambassador Program comes to life.

Who would make a good Ambassador?

Ambassadors need to be passionate about young people and understand how The Duke of Ed can assist and ensure young people achieve their full potential.

Ambassadors will have either provided financial support to The Duke of Ed, or have provided opportunities for funding.

The Commitment of our Ambassadors

We ask our Ambassadors to support The Duke of Ed in the following ways:

Provide financial support to Award Projects or Programmes
Introduce new Ambassadors to The Award who will be influential and offer support
Be advocate for The Award across business, Government and community groups
