Dukes Week - Mon 18 - Sun 24 October 2010

The Dukes Week is coming soon!

Following the successful Duke of Ed BBQ event held in October 2009, we look forward to launching the Dukes Week in South Australia from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 October 2010. This is a great opportunity for both Award participants and Licensed Operators to get involved!

Participants - get involved and fulfil service section of your Award by organising a fun activity for your school, club or organisation during the Dukes Week! Show everyone what the Award is all about. For example, you could hold a fundrasing event and raise proceeds for a charity of your choise!

Licensed Operators - please download the outline and registration form to be involved in the 'Dukes Week'.

In the meantime, get inspired by what the Riverland Special School has achieved last year and start thinking about the activities you will be undertaking as part of the Dukes Week this year!

"We had our Biggest BBQ held on Thursday 30 October at the Riverland Special School. We invited our Duke of Ed volunteers for the year plus the whole school staff and students. The Duke of Ed students cooked the BBQ and prepared salads on the day and then they served the food. The four volunteers then presented four of our students with their Duke of Ed Awards. Thus we were able to acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers and applaud the success of the students. It was a great event and we hope to be involved again next year. We raised $80.00 for the Award in South Australia".
