The Duke of Edinburgh's Award will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2012. Since its inception, we know that approximately 500,000 Australians have participated in The Award in Australia.
The anniversary year will kick off in March 2012 with the launch of our new Alumni, a new national website and a media campaign. The Vision is to create a platform of connected Awardees that will build and maintain The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award reputation in Australia, and ultimately ensure our sustainability.
The Alumni will provide a means to re-engage with the 50 years of Awardees and a method to actively engage with Awardees as they finish the program.
The Duke of Ed Alumni will be operated and managed by the National Office, in collaboration with the State and Territory offices, to ensure a cohesive and national approach. The Alumni will assist to raise the awareness of The Award in Australia, create funding opportunities and ultimately, to achieve our vision of reaching many more young Australians.
