2010 Launch of the WA Award
Improving access to The Award for young people in remote and regional areas of Western Australia has always been a major focus of The Award in WA and a major hurdle because of the vast distances to cover in WA and accessibility issues.
As a result of significant financial support of The Award’s new National Benefactor Professor Clive Palmer and existing supporters including the Tony and Gwenyth Lennon Family Foundation, Mr and Mrs Charlie and Anne Bontempo and Travel Associates, achieving access into these remote areas will now be more achievable.
On the 13th May 2010, The Award in WA held a special evening with invited guests to recognise this significant support and celebrate The Award in WA’s improved access to more areas of the State, using the new technology of the Online Record Book.
The evening, which was hosted by our Western Australian Award Patron, His Excellency Dr Ken Michael AC and his wife Mrs Julie Michael, was attended by new and current sponsors, Board members, staff and friends of The Award in WA.
The evening was also an opportunity to welcome our newly appointed WA Chairman, Mr. Stephen Hauville, as well as acknowledging new WA Partnerships which included the Halo Leadership Development Program.
The introduction of the Online Record Book to The Award in WA has been welcomed by many, with over 50 Award Coordinators attending a 1 day Workshop to train them in this new technology. Want to know more about the Online Record Book?
