The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in NSW
The Award began in New South Wales in 1962 and is a program of Communities NSW - Sport and Recreation.
There are over 400 organisations currently registered to operate The Award in NSW including schools, and youth organisations and community groups, including those involved with Youth at Risk and Indigenous Youth.
The Online Record Book (
ORB
)
The new interactive Online Record Book (ORB)
replaces the set of three paper Record Books previously in use.
The
ORB
is a system for online recording of information on activities undertaken by participants doing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program. It
has been designed with Coordinators and participants in mind and provides a new management system encouraging a greater completion rate amongst participants. Further enhancements to the
ORB
are in the pipeline and will be progressively rolled out in the future.
Coordinators now have the ability to instantly review a participant’s progress and to provide information and feedback using a more efficient method of communication. It enables Coordinators track participants entry into The Award and assists in reducing delays associated with ordering books, blue registration cards, parental permissions and final lodgement of completed Awards.
Note -
Participants who have begun their Award
using the paper Record Books can continue on to higher levels of The
Award using paper Record Books.
