Our People

Our Licensed Operators

Each State and Territory Award Authority licenses 'Operators' to conduct The Duke of Ed Program.  They are commonly known as LO's and are responsible for delivering The Award to Participants.  In the Northern Territory our LO’s are the schools. Licenced Operators appoint Award Coordinators who become the main contact and the ones who guide Participants on their Duke of Ed journey.

Our Coordinators

Our Coordinators are the teachers in the schools throughout the Northern Territory and  they are the frontline of The Duke of Ed, playing one of the most fundamental roles - that of developing the Participants who are actively involved.  Without them there simply would be no Award! Coordinators are appointed by a Licensed Operator and become the main contact for Participants and Assessors. Their role is to engage young people in the program, encourage, inspire and guide them. Coordinators are the most important influential people to Participants, as they have regular contact and look up to them as mentors and leaders.  As such, there are responsibilities a Coordinator has to both the young people they lead and The Duke of Ed itself.

Our Assessors

Assessors are Adult Volunteers who play a crucial role in the success of the Award program, engaging with Participants during their journey, offering guidance, mentoring and encouragement for the Section they're assessing.

For each Section of The Duke of Ed, Participants require at least one Assessor to help guide them and through the Award journey and assess their participation.

Our Participants

Participants are aged between 14- 25 years. The majority of our participants in the NT are from territory schools from Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs, Darwin with a few from remote schools i.e. Ramingining School.
