Res Project Assessment

Assessment is undertaken by a suitably qualified or experienced adult volunteer who has been approved by the Coordinator on behalf of the Licensed Operator or identified by the Participant.

Please note that the selected Residential Project will require Assessors to be an employee or volunteer within the organisation a Participant has chosen, and they must be available during the course of the project.

Assessors both help Participants set goals for their chosen activity(s) and assess whether or not a Participant has undertakenthe required effort and has strived to achieve their goals.  Group activities are to be assessed with regard to each individual's contribution to planning, execution and completion.

On arrival at the residential venue, the Participant should remind their Assesor that the project will form part of a Gold Award.

Assessors are responsible for writing the final assessment report and signing off the Section.  For the Residential Project the contact will probably be in the time leading up to the residential period, and frequently during the 5 days of the project.

Each Participant is to be monitored and assessed by their Assessor for:

 1. Effort

 2. Perseverance

 3. Progress

A Participant satisfies the requirements of the Residential Project if the Assessor is convinced that they have demonstrated commitment in:

  • their personal standards
  • relationships with others
  • responsibility
  • initiative and general progress during the residential period
