The responsibilities that come with being a Supervisor are:
- Supervising practice and/or qualifying journeys for the Adventurous Journey Section of The Award
- Checking in with Participants at least once each day when they are undertaking their practice and/or qualifying journeys
- Ensuring the safety of Participants whilst undertaking a practice and/orqualifying journey, without interefering with the group's decisions or purpose, unless safety is a concern
- Provide feedback on any practice journeys supervised, including feedback on the team's strengths and weaknesses and what areas of concern are to be addressed prior to the team undertaking their qualifying journey.
A Supervisor must:
Be experienced or qualified in the field in which you are instructing or assessing.
Be appointed by and approved by the Award Coordinator and therefore the Licensed Operator (LO) prior to the Adventurous Journey(s) commencing.
Hold appropriate qualifications from a relevant authority if such qualifications are available and/or required.
Be approached by the Coordinator and Participants before the Participants commence the practice or qualifying journey.
