Bronze Participant Dylan Risk has based his Award around the demanding athletic discipline of
javelin
.
An indigenous Australian, Dylan is number 1 (out of 10 professionals) in the Territory and is a two-time Territory champion in the under-18 division... and he's only 16!
A sports teacher recommended Dylan try the sport so he tried out at his local athletics club and threw the spear further than anyone else. He is involved in the Jump Start to London program, through which indigenous kids travel interstate competing in athletics and develop skills to get them closer to qualifying for the Olympic Games.
