Mentally Healthy WA at Curtin University coordinates the Act-Belong-Commit preventative mental health campaign that encourages individuals to take action to protect and promote their own mental wellbeing, and partners with organisations that provide mentally healthy activities. Everyone can build positive mental health by keeping physically, mentally, spiritually and socially active (act); keeping involved in family and community activities and participating in community events (belong); and taking on challenges or causes that provide meaning and purpose in their lives (commit). Act-Belong-Commit offer activities for the skill and service sections of the Award. Mentally Healthy WA is partnered with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to highlight the mental health benefits of getting involved in the Award.

We deliver inspiring outdoor adventures and wilderness expeditions, facilitated by our exceptional team using research-based methodologies and best practice tools.

As a preferred provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award, we can run adventurous journeys or expeditions for students who are completing all levels of the award both in and outside of the school environment.
Antipodeans runs challenging, overseas adventures for young people that help shape who they are. We do this by creating opportunities for students to explore their true selves on the way to adulthood, learning vital life-skills, connecting with one another and developing a better understanding of themselves, the world and their place in it along the way. Our 3-4 week Expeditions have been operating for over 25 years, and focus on developing resilience, mindfulness and leadership skills in high school students. They also allow students to give back to a community abroad, through a rewarding community project they help plan before they go, suitable for a Residential Project. Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award can all be completed on Expedition for your Adventurous Journey.

Barrington Outdoor Education provides outdoor education experiences in New South Wales that will open the door to a lifetime of adventure. Fully accredited and with fully qualified guides, we pride ourselves on offering the very best of care for teachers, care for your students and care for the environment too. Our rich experience in outdoor education enables us to offer an exciting variety of ways to undertake adventurous journeys for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. We have also introduced a new experience for the Duke of Ed Gold Residential Project.
Bibbulmun Track Foundation
The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast, winding through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia.
Cahoots provides exciting and rewarding programs and camps for kids and young people living with a disability in Western Australia. A registered NDIS provider, Cahoots runs a variety of programs and camps throughout the year, catering to children and young people of all abilities between the ages of 5 and 30. Each of the programs are run by qualified and experienced facilitator, along with a team of volunteer support leaders of all ages and backgrounds. Cahoots volunteers are caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated to making Cahoots programs and camps the most engaging and rewarding experience it can be for the young people in their care. Cahoot’s mission is to create opportunities for children and young people with disability to develop friendship, skills, and self-confidence.
Cockburn Ice Arena
Cockburn Ice Arena is housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility, proud to be on of only two ice rinks in the hemisphere with two ice surfaces. With easy access to public transport and plenty of on site parking, we specialise in a variety of year round activities, such as recreational ice skating, ice skating lessons, ice hockey lessons, figure skating lessons, synchronised skating and All Ability sessions. We offer discounted ice skating lessons to Duke of Ed participants and are a unique venue for your physical recreation activity.
The Collaroy Centre has been running expeditions for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award for almost 20 years. We pride ourselves on running high quality expeditions across Bronze, Silver and Gold level, and cater for individual participants or school groups, as well as participants over 18 years of age. We will take you through preparation and training, as well as practice and qualifying expeditions, and would love to help you achieve your goals and objectives.
Cricket NSW oversees cricket activities in local clubs and schools across NSW. Many cricket clubs run a range of programs for young people to engage in Australia’s favourite game. Participants of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award can play cricket at a local club for their Physical Recreation activity or may be able to support a local Cricket Club to gain credit towards the Service section.
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions: Parks and Wildlife Service
The Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions delivers on ground operations across the parks and visitor services, forest and ecosystem management, rivers and estuaries, and regional and fire management services. Volunteers for Parks and Wildlife Service are involved in real projects that contribute to the overall environmental, conservation and tourism objectives of DBCA. Participants aged 18 years or over can be a volunteer with Parks and Wildlife Service. Volunteer projects include the Wildcare Helpline and associated wildlife rehabilitation programs, track, trail and park maintenance, science-focused projects such as flora and fauna monitoring, or cataloging native seed specimens.
Didier Walks is a Perth based guided hiking, consulting and mentoring business. Didier Walks offers guided hiking expeditions mostly on the Bibbulmun Track and other trails between Yanchep National Park and Dwellingup as well as Collie. Didier Walks is able to provide face to face or online consults to individuals or large groups on preparations including food, gear, fitness, track section selection, and mental health on the track. Didier Walks guide and owner, Didier Monot, has experience mentoring in mental health and disability services for young people and offers specialist hiking programs for people with mental illness as part of their mental health management and in consultation with their support network.
Edmund Rice Camps
Edmund Rice Camps NSW runs recreational, group-based camp programs for disadvantaged children, aged 5 – 15 years old in Western Sydney. Edmund Rice Camps NSW operates on a 1:1 ratio of volunteers to children, with volunteers coming from a wide variety of different organisations, for a variety of different purposes. Edmund Rice Camps NSW camp programs are an ideal choice for young people completing their Residential Project as part of their Gold Award. As a volunteer on camp, you will work within a supportive team, towards a common goal of providing children with an unforgettable week. You will broaden your understanding of social justice and the issues facing disadvantaged children, discover new skills and abilities and hopefully learn a lot about yourself! Edmund Rice Camps NSW run every school holidays, from Sunday morning to Friday evening; to be eligible you must be 16 years of age and attend the compulsory New Leader Training Day.

IEP Working Holidays specialises in assisting young Australian’s going on gap years and are pleased to announce a partnership with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to offer Participants completing their Gold Award a FREE placement (saving up to $699) on the Summer Camp USA program to complete their Residential Project teaching kids outdoor activities!

Oceans 2 Earth
Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers is the only Australian owned organisation specialising in volunteering projects for animal lovers. We offer a wide range of exclusive Australian animal welfare projects committed to the rescue, care, rehabilitation and release of Australian wildlife. Our projects will help you achieve your award through caring for animals and participating in conservation activities. You will help animals directly through activities that include bottle feeding joeys, exercising wombats, cleaning enclosures, hand-rearing baby bats and preparing animals’ food.
OutBeyond is a unique youth development organisation that specialises in outdoor education, eco-tourism and adventure travel. Our programs have been created by forward thinking education and tourism professionals who believe in supporting the Australian (and New Zealand) education system, with complementary and innovative experiential education programs beyond the walls of the classroom.
Outdoor Education Group
The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) is dedicated to providing meaningful, memorable, character building and transferrable experiences in the outdoors. We facilitate experiential learning to over 40,000 participants annually and are proud to offer expeditions that meet the requirements of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. OEG maintains a high standard of risk management and can tailor expeditions to meet the needs of schools, parents and individual students.
Perth Choral Institute
The Perth Choral Institute offers young singers the opportunity to develop the skills required to perform in a vocal ensemble. For individuals looking for a Residential Project, the PCI Summer Choral Course is an ideal opportunity to meet similarly minded individuals, whilst performing a variety of vocal styles. For those who wish to pursue their Skill; workshops and shorter courses are run throughout the year that will address specific aspects of singing. All of these are great fun, as well as being challenging for those young people who wish to push themselves in new experiences.
Projects Abroad has been organising safe, practical and worthwhile overseas placements for students since 1992. We provide a number of volunteer placements to over 9,000 volunteers each year, across 30 countries in the developing world. High School students can join in with our two-week group trips, while older volunteers can choose from a range of independent projects.

Ragnarok Combat Academy is a bespoke martial discipline training academy with a proud history of training and producing students who have excelled in academic and professional endeavours. While what we teach is superior self protection techniques, our approach to improving students lives includes developing mindset, soft skills, physical ability, and character development.
